NEAR WEST SIDE— A person was shot while driving on the Eisenhower Expressway Friday afternoon, police said.
At 12:30 p.m., troopers responded to a shooting on I-290 eastbound on the exit ramp to Western Avenue, Illinois State Police said in a statement.
The victim of the shooting was taken to an area hospital, where their condition was stabilized, police said. Further information on the victim was not immediately available.
The eastbound I-290 exit ramp to Western Avenue was closed for the investigation, state police officials said.
No other information was released at this time, state police officials said.
