1 Dead, 10 Wounded In Shootings Since Thursday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings killed one man and wounded 10 others, including two people shot on local expressways since Thursday, according to police.

At 6:40 p.m. Thursday, Deandre Walton was killed in an East Garfield Park shooting, police said.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 1:35 a.m. Friday, a man was shot while exiting the Eisenhower Expy. at Kostner Avenue, reports said.

• At 1:25 a.m., a 41-year-old man was shot on Lake Shore Drive near Grant Park, police said.

• At 9:30 p.m. Thursday, three people were shot in Logan Square, police said.

• At 4 p.m. Thursday, a 30-year-old man was wounded in a Chatham shooting, police said.

He had gotten into an argument in a gas station in the 8300 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when the other person shot him in the chest and groin, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police said.

• At 2:50 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in Englewood, police said.

The man was in the 7200 block of South Emerald Avenue when a green van drove by and someone inside began firing, police said. He was struck in the right leg and was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition was not released but he was considered stable by police.

• A 14-year-old boy was shot in Austin at 2:50 p.m., police said.

• At 11:50 a.m., a 19-year-old man and a 29-year-old man were shot in North Lawndale, police said.

They were in the 3300 block of West Douglas Boulevard when someone in a passing SUV started shooting, police said. The younger man was shot in his body and the younger man in his leg, and both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where police were considering them "stable."
