PORTAGE PARK — After months of speculation over the future of the space formerly occupied by Family Fruit Market, 4118 N. Cicero Ave., a neighbor has finalized a deal to move in, officials said.

The Dollar Tree at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Cuyler Avenue will relocate to the larger space across the street, according to Kelli Wefenstette, executive director of the Six Corners Business Association.

The store will make the official move in January 2017, a Dollar Tree employee said.

Starbucks is moving forward with a plan to build a store in the overflow parking lot across from Family Fruit Market, on the east side of Cicero.

A tenant has not yet been signed to the current Family Dollar location at Milwaukee and Cuyler, Wefenstette said.
