CHICAGO — A shooting in Little Village killed a 20-year-old man on Saturday morning, police said.

At 10:15 a.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West 24th Street when a car pulled up and someone fired shots in his direction and drove away, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was hit in his chest, abdomen, back and arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Lemmon said. He was later pronounced dead.

He has been identified as Giovanni Galvan, of the 2200 block of South Trumbull Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The man was a documented gang member, police sources said.
