Cubs Have Been Historically Bad In The NLCS, Stats Guru Says

By Justin Breen | October 19, 2016 3:55pm

CHICAGO — Christopher Kamka said there are many reasons the Cubs have struggled mightily in the last two National League Championship Series games against the Dodgers.

And he has the stats to back up his reasons — even showing that Babe Ruth was the last lefty to shut out the Cubs in the postseason before this year.

The stats coordinator at Comcast SportsNet Chicago and Illinois Center for Broadcasting graduate provided DNAinfo with some of his Cubs-related statistics. In part the stats show this year's team's historical ineptitude so far at the plate in the NLCS.

Game 4 is Wednesday night, with the Cubs trailing the series 2-1.

The Cubs are 0-4 all-time in the NLCS, losing in 1984, 1989, 2003 and last year. They are 2-9 all-time in NLCS road games, having lost the last four, prior to Wednesday's game.
