LITTLE ITALY — A new tea house serving bubble tea, smoothies, fresh juices and more is now open on Taylor Street.
New colorful cafe Tbaar opened at 1453 W. Taylor St. in Little Italy in September, said employee Harry Liang.
While the shop offers an extensive menu of bubble tea options featuring tea sourced from around the world, Liang said the cafe's custom smoothies are their most popular order.
The made-to-order fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies include:
• carrot, tomato and watermelon juice ($5 medium, $6 large)
• Just Beet It, a beet, kale, carrot, orange and lemon juice ($6 medium, $7 large)
• Summer Dream Smoothie, a papaya, carrot, mango, orange and banana smoothie ($6 medium, $7 large)
• Wheatgrass Green Smoothie, a kale, spinach, cucumber, apple, celery, orange and wheatgrass smoothie ($8 medium, $9 large)
Bubble tea varieties ($3-$4.75) include:
• bubble milk black tea
• bubble milk green tea
• honeydew milk tea
• taro milk tea
• coconut milk tea
• vanilla milk tea
• panda green milk tea
The shop also serves a variety of green teas ($3-$4.25), iced matcha green tea lattes and smoothies ($3.75-6), and iced coffee ($2.75-$4).
Founded in Brooklyn, New York City in 2006 with the slogan "Make Life Fresh," Tbaar currently operates 20 stores across the United States.
Tbaar is open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
