CHICAGO — A 17-year-old was shot in his arm next to the Cook County Criminal Courthouse late Monday night, police said.

At 11:23 p.m., the teen was walking in the 2600 block of South California Avenue when someone shot at him from a passing red sedan, police said.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was considered "stable," police said.

Police said he is a documented gang member.

No one was in custody, police said.
