CHICAGO — A 34-year-old man was shot in his foot while walking in Irving Park late Monday night, police said.

At 10:23 p.m., the man was walking on the sidewalk in the 4400 block of West Belmont Avenue when someone shot at him from a passing car, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to Community First Hospital, where he was considered "stable," police said.

Police said he is a documented gang member.

No one was in custody, police said.
