At 4:20 a.m., in the 3100 block of South Central Park Avenue, two men were arguing on the street when one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the other man, 30, in his chest, police said.

The 30-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead, authorities said.

The man has been identified as Rolando Gamino of East Chicago, Ind., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was pronounced dead at 9:34 a.m., the medical examiner said.

At 3:43 a.m., a 34-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 3000 block of South Avers Avenue when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his right leg, according to a police incident report.
