Shootings Kill Teen, Wound 13 People Since Friday, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings have left one person dead and 13 wounded since Friday, police said.

• At 12:35 p.m. Friday, a 17-year-old was gunned down in Austin. A 57-year-old man riding a CTA bus was also wounded.

In non-fatal shootings:

• At 2:43 a.m. Saturday, a 26-year-old man was shot in Englewood.

• At 2:04 a.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in Douglas, police said. The man was sitting in a car in the 3800 block of South Sate Street when another car drove up and someone inside fired shots.

The man was hit in his legs and was taken to Mercy Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

The shooter drove away, police said.

• At 1:40 a.m., a 68-year-old man was shot in his hip in Englewood.

• At 12:35 a.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in Little Village.

• At 11:29 p.m. Friday, a 35-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man saw his girlfriend's car being stolen and he followed the thieves in another car to the 300 block of North Pine Avenue, where the thieves got out of the car.

The man then went to his girlfriend's car and got into the driver's side, but the thieves fired shots, hitting the man in his leg and hand, police said.

The man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 9:57 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was outside in the 5400 block of West North Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his shoulder and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said.

• At 9:56 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in Austin, police said. The man was in the 1400 block of North Lawler Avenue when he was shot in his leg.

The man was in good condition, police said. No further information was immediately available.

• At 9:30 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in Chatham.

• At 9:03 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was shot while walking with friends in Englewood.

• At 6:55 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in North Lawndale, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. The boy was in the 1400 block of South Springfield Avenue when someone walked up and shot at him.

The boy was hit in his buttocks and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

• At 2:25 p.m., a 25-year-old man was shot in Fernwood, Estrada said. the man was standing in front of a home in the 10200 block of South Wentworth Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in the right side of his chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Estrada said.

• At 2:20 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in Fernwood, police said. The man was sitting in a car in the 200 block of West 105th Street when another car pulled up and someone inside got out and fired shots.

The man was hit in his arm and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," Estrada said.

No one was in custody.
