STREETERVILLE — Now this is a story all about how a bar crawl company will flip-turn Navy Pier upside down.

A '90s-themed booze cruise will set sail at 8 p.m. Saturday from the state's largest tourist attraction, 600 E. Grand Ave.

Aptly titled "90s Booze Cruise," the event already has more than 500 guests planning to attend and thousands more interested on Facebook.

The evening will include a costume contest, tunes from the decade, and an open bar. Tickets cost $75, with proceeds benefiting an undisclosed animal shelter.

Dave Matthews imagines how he would dress to re-live the 90s.

The cruise is the latest attempt in Chicago to capture the nostalgia and dollars of young professionals who grew up in the '90s. A "Saved By the Bell"-themed pop-up diner in Wicker Park has been extended through the end of the year, and a gourmet dumpling fest next month in the Loop will be set to the sounds of old-school hip hop.

The event is promoted by 90's Bar Crawl, a company that runs '90s-themed events throughout the country. Representatives of 90's Bar Crawl did not return a message seeking comment.
