NEAR WEST SIDE — A 21-year-old man was shot in his head on the Near West Side Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 4:11 p.m., the man was standing at the intersection of Western Avenue and Adams Street when someone walked up and shot at him before driving away in a four-door sedan, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Alfaro said.

No one was in custody, Alfaro said.
