19 Wounded In South, West Side Shootings Since Saturday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings on the city's South and West Side left 19 people wounded, including five teenagers, between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.

• Most recently, at 2:38 a.m. Sunday morning, a 32-year-old man was arguing with another man on the sidewalk in the 4300 block of South Wallace Street in Canaryville when the other man pulled out a gun and shot him, according to a police incident report.

The man was taken to Stroger Hospital after being shot in his inner right thigh, police said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

• At 12:47 a.m., a 37-year-old man was in a car in the 400 block of North Laramie Avenue in Austin when someone shot at him from the sidewalk, police said.

The man drove himself to West Suburban Hospital, where he was "stable" with a gunshot wound in his right shoulder, police said.

• At 11:34 p.m. Saturday night, a 23-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 13300 block of South Prairie Avenue in Riverdale when he began arguing with another man, and the man shot at him as the 23-year-old was getting into a car, police said.

The man drove himself to Metro South Hospital, where he was considered "stable" with a gunshot wound in his left ankle, police said.

• At 11:28 p.m., two men were sitting in a parked car in the 3500 block of West Fulton Street in West Garfield Park when another man walked up and shot at them, police said.

One man, 19, was shot in his left leg, police said. The other man, 24, was shot in both legs.

Both men were brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were considered "stable," police said.

Police said both men are documented gang members.

• At 11:13 p.m., a 20-year-old man was found shot in his chest in Englewood.

• At 11:05 p.m., a 14-year-old boy shot in his leg in Roseland.

• At 10:28 p.m., a 25-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk with a group of people in the 900 block of North Karlov Avenue in West Humboldt Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain, police said.

The man brought himself to West Suburban Hospital, where he was considered "stable" with a gunshot wound in his right leg, police said.

• At 10:27 p.m., two men were driving in the 4000 block of West 79th Street in Ashburn when someone pulled up to them in a silver sedan and shot at them, police said.

One man, 22, was grazed in his head, police said. The other man, 19, was shot in his abdomen.

Both men were brought to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where they were considered "stable."

Police said both men are documented gang members.

• At 10:20 p.m., a 48-year-old man was driving in the 3800 block of West Arthington Street in West Garfield Park when he heard gunshots and felt pain in his left hip, police said.

The man drove to West Suburban Hospital, where he was considered "stable," police said.

• At 9:50 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in his head in Englewood.

• At 7:33 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was arguing with someone in the 3200 block of West Washington Boulevard in East Garfield Park when the other person pulled out a gun and shot him in his left leg, according to Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Alfaro said.

• At 6:02 p.m., a 32-year-old man was in a car in the 800 block of West 50th Street in Back of the Yards when someone shot at him from another car, Alfaro said.

The man was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound in his thigh, Alfaro said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• At 4:11 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot and critically wounded on the Near West Side.

• At 12:46 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot twice in Englewood.

• At 10:02 a.m. Saturday morning, a 24-year-old man was shot in Park Manor.

• At 7:18 a.m., a shooting left a man and woman critically wounded in Little Village.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings, police said.
