NEAR WEST SIDE — A shooting on the Near West Side left a 37-year-old man dead early Saturday, police said.
At 2:35 a.m., officers responding to a report of a person down in the 2600 block of West Wilcox found the man, police said. He had been shot in his head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as Jewneus Clifford, of the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive.
No one was in custody, police said.
