Near West Side, Pilsen Shootings Wound 2 People, Police Say

CHICAGO — Shootings on the West Side wounded two people on Thursday, police said.

• At 11:32 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in Pilsen, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of West 21st Street when he heard shots and felt pain.

The man was hit in his chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital, police said. He was in critical condition.

• At 10:45 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the Near West Side, police said. The man was walking on the sidewalk in the 200 block of South Western Avenue when someone in a black SUV fired shots.

The man was hit in his left foot and was taken to Stroger Hospital. His condition was not available, but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
