LINCOLN PARK — Geja's Café, routinely named one of the best date spots in the country, just got even more romantic.
After 51 years of business, the Lincoln Park staple, 340 W. Armitage Ave., is opening an outdoor patio in the middle of October, according to managing partner Jeff Lawler.
Once it opens, guests can enjoy a glass of wine or a meat and cheese board on the benches around the patio's fire pits. The restaurant's signature fondue won't be served outside.
Lawler said he wanted the exterior of the restaurant to match the interior. Geja's is known for its candle-lit dining room and Flamenco music.
"When you're standing at the top of the stairs looking down, I want our guests to see that you're entering something special, something old-world," Lawler said.
The food blog Eater was first to report the news.
