Lincoln Park's Geja's Cafe Named Country's Most Romantic Restaurant: Report

LINCOLN PARK — Those looking for a date night spot should look no further than Geja's Café in Lincoln Park. 

On the heels of its 50th anniversary, the candle-lit fondue restaurant, 340 W. Armitage Ave., was just named the most romantic restaurant in the country by the USA Today's 10Best Reader's Choice.

Food and travel experts selected 20 nominees, and readers narrowed it down to the top 10, according to a news release.

Here's the full list:

1. Geja's Café - Chicago

2. Eiffel Tower Restaurant - Las Vegas

3. Circa 1886 - Charleston

4. Il Cielo - Beverly Hills, Calif.

5. Fearrington House Restaurant - Pittsboro, N.C.

6. Alizé - Las Vegas

7. French Room - Dallas

8. The River Café - New York

9. Blantyre - Lenox, Mass.

10. Log Haven - Salt Lake City

The restaurant takes its romantic appeal so seriously that it even tracks its success. Geja's Café has been the site of 137,000 first dates and 16,254 engagements since it opened, according to the release.
