LINCOLN PARK — A restaurant named Campus Dogs is replacing Fat Sandwich Company on a changing stretch of Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.

Crews on Tuesday were seen transforming the former Fat Sandwich Company restaurant, 2273 N. Lincoln Ave., into the new restaurant, which might sell hot dogs if its name is any indication.

Campus Dogs will make its debut sometime in October, according to a hand-written sign affixed to the window.

Until then, crews will be at work updating the plumbing, electrical system and replacing the drywall, according to a city permit.

It's unclear what the menu will look like. Bryan K. Foy, who is listed as the manager on the permit, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Fat Sandwich Company, which offered sandwiches and burgers, called the building home since 2012.

The new restaurant is the latest change on a Lincoln Park stretch of Lincoln Avenue that has been bustling with construction this summer.

The massive Children's Memorial Hospital and Lincoln Centre projects are underway. Plus, DePaul University's music building is getting revamped.
