WEST LOOP — Under new ownership, New Line Tavern in the West Loop will launch brunch and extended hours next week.

Adam Sherman, owner of Brownstone Tavern in North Center, and partner Justin Witalka are taking over the tavern at Lake and Clinton, they announced Tuesday. The bar closed Monday for renovations and will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Starting next week, New Line Tavern will offer weekend brunch with a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Sherman and Witalka also plan to update the restaurant's menus and interior and announced daily specials, happy hour deals and extended hours to cater to the neighborhood crowd.

The new owners plan to install custom wood signs and old train photos in the tavern — an homage to the historic Old Powerhouse building in which the bar is located.

The 2,300-square-foot bar, at 201 N. Clinton St., will be open daily at 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday-Friday and until 3 a.m. on Saturdays starting Sept. 6.

The 2,989-square-foot venue is located at the corner of Lake and Clinton and features a 32-person outdoor cafe.

Sherman bought Brownstone Tavern from Four Corners Group in November 2015.
