CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy shot in Austin early Sunday has died from his injuries, according to police.
At 4:01 a.m., the boy was standing on the corner in the 5500 block of West North Avenue when he was shot in his head, police said.
The boy was taken to Loyola Hospital in critical condition before he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office identified him as Malik Causey, of the 1300 block of West Menard Avenue.
He was a documented gang member, according to police.
