Mikel Maragh, 26, Dies After West Loop Shooting, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in the West Loop critically wounded a man Tuesday evening, police said.

The man was in the 1400 block of West Carroll Avenue at 5:12 p.m. when shots rang out, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

He was struck in his head and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Sweeney said.

He was later pronounced dead, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

He was identified as 26-year-old Mikel Maragh, of the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

No arrests have been made.
