CHICAGO — A 22-year-old woman was shot to death Wednesday night on the Near West Side, police said.
At 10 p.m., the woman was in a car driving in the 200 block of South Oakley Avenue when a black Hyundai sedan pulled alongside her and a man got out and fired shots, police said.
The woman was hit twice in the chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
She has been identified as Jamie Williams, of the 10600 block of South LaSalle Street, according to the County Medical Examiner's office.
The shooter ran away and the driver of the car he was in drove off, police said.
No one was in custody in the shooting.
