COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Accused serial rapist Marc Winner was still in county custody Tuesday as he was criminally indicted on his fourth pending rape case.

Winner, 45, has been held without bail since April 30 when prosecutors filed charges in the third of four pending rape cases and a Cook County judge dubbed Winner "a danger."

But Judge Carol M. Howard last week reduced Winner's bail in that case to $100,000 — bringing his total bail amount for all four cases to $625,000. Since Winner already posted $50,000 last year, he would need $12,500, or the remaining 10 percent, to post bond.

Though Winner's attorney last week said he was "hopeful" Winner could raise the money, the former West Loop entrepreneur was still in Cook County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon, according to sheriff's office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

Winner is charged with raping four women from 2009 to 2015 — but prosecutors believe there are as many nine victims, five of whom have cases that lay beyond the statute of limitations for filing charges.

In the four pending cases, three alleged victims were customers or employees at Winner's Soleil Tanning Salon, 1018 W. Madison St., which was shuttered by the city in May after Winner failed to renew his business license.

In the fourth case, Winner allegedly raped an acquaintance inside his mother's Edgewater home. That case was criminally indicted Tuesday, and Winner is next slated to appear in court Aug. 17.

Winner's attorney is expected to argue that one of Winner's pending cases — which stems from the alleged 2009 rape of a former employee — should be dismissed. The defense team has argued that prosecutors are infringing on Winner's constitutional right to a speedy trial by "piling on" old cases.
