PILSEN — Neighbors reported hearing a rash of gunfire Monday night near Harrison Park in Pilsen.

At about 10:10 p.m. Monday, about a half-dozen shots rang out in an alley in the 1900 block of West Cullerton Street, according to neighbors and a law enforcement source.

No one is believed to have been injured by the gunfire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Adjacent to the National Museum for Mexican Art, the 17-acre Harrison Park is open until 11 p.m.

In response to recent violence, Pilsen Alliance is planning a March for Peace & Justice from Dvorak Park to Harrison Park at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

In July, a daytime drive-by shooting near a summer camp in Dvorak Park in Pilsen forced 80 children to take cover.
