WEST LOOP — A block-long stretch of Jackson Boulevard near Union Station will be closed overnight Tuesday and reduced to one lane later this week.
Jackson Boulevard between Clinton and Canal streets will be closed as Chicago Department of Transportation crews perform emergency repairs on the street in connection related to the Union Station Transit Center Project, according to Ald. Brendan Reilly's office.
The street will close at 7 p.m. Tuesday and re-open at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.
After the overnight closure, Jackson Boulevard between Clinton and Canal will be reduced to one eastbound lane until Friday.
Eastbound Jackson Boulevard traffic will be detoured to southbound Clinton Street, to eastbound Van Buren Street, to northbound Canal Street and back to eastbound Jackson Boulevard.
The timing of closure could change and is dependent on weather and other factors, CDOT officials said.
