University Village Shooting Leaves 3 Wounded, Police Say

NEAR WEST SIDE — Three men were shot while sitting in a parked car in University Village late Monday night, police said.

Around 10:50 p.m., the men were sitting in the 1300 block of South Blue Island Avenue when a group of men walked up and shot at them, according to police.

One man, 20, was shot in his right foot and taken to University of Illinois in Chicago Hospital.

Another man, 24, was taken to University of Illinois in Chicago Hospital with a gunshot wound in his right knee.

A third man, 23, was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound in his buttocks.

All three men were in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody, police said.
