NEAR WEST SIDE — Dino thriller "Jurassic World" will be shown under the nighttime sky on the Near West Side on Wednesday night.

The sci-fi adventure movie that brings dinosaurs back to life will kick off at about 8 p.m. Wednesday at Touhy-Herbert Park, 2106 W. Adams St.

The summer movie screening is the park's first in more than 10 years, according to a Touhy-Herbert Park Board announcement.

The 2015 film, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, is based on the same fictional Island Isla Nublar, 22 years after the original "Jurassic Park" genetically-created dinosaur program goes terribly awry.

This time, chaos ensues when a new hybrid dinosaur, the Indominus‍ rex, breaks loose and goes on a rampage across the island, according to the movie's description.

"Jurassic World" is the fourth sequel in the "Jurassic Park" series. The movie is rated PG-13 and runs 124 minutes.

The movie screening, part of the Chicago Park District's Movies in the Parks program, is free and open to the public. Free popcorn will be served at the screening.
