LINCOLN SQUARE — Eleventh-hour action by the state legislature averted a "doomsday" scenario for Chicago Public Schools, but the district is still facing a massive budget deficit.

A panel of experts will discuss what's next in the battle for funding at an upcoming forum at Amundsen High School.

The discussion is hosted by the education advocacy group Raise Your Hand and will take place 6:30 p.m. top 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the high school at 5110 N. Damen Ave.

Among those slated to appear: Aldermen Ameya Pawar (47th) and Carlos Rosa (35th), Illinois State Representatives Greg Harris (D-13) and Ann Williams (D-11), WBEZ education reporter Sarah Karp and Ralph Martire, executive director of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability.

DNAinfo will stream the forum via Facebook Live (@DNAinfoLincolnSquareNorthCenter).
