CHICAGO — Construction has begun on a $20 million training facility in Little Village.
The center will train 1,600 people who do work for Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas, according to a news release. High school students are expected to participate in vocational training there.
The center will teach current and future workers how to investigate gas leaks, respond to emergencies, and install and find pipelines, among other things. Ninety people will work there full-time.
