WEST LOOP — After 25 years in business, Vivo restaurant on Randolph will close.

AMK Group, owners of AMK Kitchen in Bucktown, have bought the restaurant space at 838 W. Randolph St. in the red-hot West Loop, a representative confirmed. Vivo will close for good on Sunday.

AMK Group plans to open a pop-up restaurant there in mid to late July called Nosh & Booze, which will play on the idea of American street food. Next year, the partners plan to open a permanent restaurant in its place.

Steven Tsonis, AMK Group partner, said Randolph Street is a fantastic location.

"We wanted to use the space in a creative way, instead of just operating Vivo until we closed for construction," Tsonis said. "We wanted to have a bit of fun and to make food that we really loved, while we prepped the space for our next concept. Nosh & Booze will give us the chance to show off unique food and beverage point of view to an already vibrant neighborhood, which is really exciting for the whole team!"

One of the oldest restaurants on Randolph's Restaurant Row, owner Dan Krasny opened Italian restaurant Vivo in fall 1991.
