LINCOLN PARK — Enjoy everything Fire Station has to offer at a family-friendly event this weekend.

The event is set for Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the park, which is located on Larrabee Street just south of Armitage Avenue.

Put on my neighborhood group Lincoln Central Association, the "Sunday Summer Sipper" event will feature hors d'oeuvres and drinks made with herbs from the park's garden, music, a magic show and more family-friendly activities.

The association took over management of the park in 2010 after years of neglect.

With help from then-43rd Ward alderman Vi Daley, landscape architecture firm Hoerr Schaudt and other organizations like Openlands, the neighborhood group gave the park a makeover by planting native plants and a vegetable garden.

Unlike most community gardens, anyone is welcome to pluck produce and herbs from the garden at Fire Station Park.
