WEST LOOP — Record crowds descended on the West Loop for the 20th annual Taste of Randolph fest last weekend.

Both Friday and Saturday welcomed record-breaking crowds to the fest, confirmed Carla Agostinelli, executive director of the West Loop Community Organization. Citing high temperatures Sunday, business at the fest slowed down, but picked back up before headliner Peter Bjorn and John closed out the fest.

In total, 75,000 people attended the three-day fest, up from about 71,000 last year.

Many of the restaurateurs who participate in the annual fest said it was the best Taste of Randolph yet, Agostinelli said. Proceeds from fest donations benefit the West Loop Community Organization.

"We are thankful for all of the patience and generosity that the community and city as whole has given us this weekend," she said.
