Choose Which Film Closes Out Millennium Park Movie Series This Summer

DOWNTOWN — Voting is now open for the last movie to be shown this summer in Millennium Park. 

For the first time, Chicagoans will choose which film will close out the weekly summer film series beginning next week in the Downtown park. Their options are 20 movies filmed in Chicago including "The Fugitive," "Blues Brothers" and "Home Alone." 

The free film series will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21 with "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," and continue until the series finale Aug. 30. Other movies already scheduled include "Finding Nemo," "Purple Rain," and "Silence of the Lambs."

People can vote now by visiting chifilmfave.org or at the park while movies are screened. Voting closes Aug. 16. The candidates are:

•"Color of Money"

•"Divergent"

•"High Fidelity"

•"Home Alone"

•"Love Jones"

•"My Best Friend’s Wedding"

•"Ordinary People"

•"Public Enemy"

•"Risky Business"

•"Road to Perdition"

•"The Dark Knight"

•"The Fugitive"

"Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon"

"The Untouchables"

•"While You Were Sleeping"

All films are free and start at 6:30 p.m. at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St. The Millennium Park Summer Film Series is underwritten by the Millennium Park Foundation and co-curated by the city's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
