BRIDGEPORT — Vienna Beef's new Factory Store is now open.
Across the street from the longtime Chicago company's new manufacturing and distribution facility, the 1,700-square-foot shop at 3847 S. Morgan St. is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
Inside the store, patrons will find a standing counter where they can enjoy hot dogs and sandwiches made with the company's signature corned beef, pastrami and Italian beef.
The hot dog stand is a pared-down version of Vienna Beef's factory cafe at 2501 N. Damen Ave. Though the company decided to move its manufacturing facility to the South Side, the original factory store will remain in Bucktown.
Mustard, anyone? Wait! Tell us that's not a bottle of ketchup we see there...
The store will sell 2-pound portions of salami and bologna, mini versions of the 5-pound portions you'll find at the deli.
