LINCOLN PARK — Only a lucky selection of Chicagoans will get a first look at the revamped Alinea

Folks snatched up the first batch of tickets to dine at Alinea, 1723 N. Halsted St., quickly Wednesday afternoon. Tickets went on sale at 11 a.m., and appeared mostly sold out all afternoon, according to the prepaid ticketing system, Tock. The minimum ticket price is $175 per person, before tax.

The restaurant, which is routinely named among the country's best, is set to reopen Friday after five months of renovations.

For now, co-owner Nick Kokonas told the Tribune they are only accepting 60 percent of normal capacity to make sure everything runs smoothly with Alinea's new menu.

He also said tickets for June will go on sale sometime next week.

In the meantime, check out photos of the renovations.
