Pilsen Shooting Wounds 16-Year-Old Boy, Police Say

CHICAGO — A shooting in Pilsen wounded a 16-year-old boy on Saturday morning, police said.

At 10:45 a.m., the boy was in the 2100 block of West 19th Street when he was shot in his leg, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman. The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was in good condition.

The teen was a documented gang member, police said, and the shooting might be gang-related.

No one was in custody in the shooting.
