9 Things to Do in Wicker Park this Weekend

WICKER PARK — Happy Friday!

There are dozens of fun happenings in the area this weekend. 

Here are our nine picks:

Pop By the "Black Widow of Bucktown" Crime Scene. Among other stops, a Friday the 13th edition of The Bizarre Bucktown walking tour will visit the home Catherine Suh lived in in 1993 when she convinced her brother to kill her boyfriend, then fled to Hawaii, according to reportsTour tickets are $15; Gordon Meyer's 90-minute tours are at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. Saturday, starts in Walsh Park, 1722 N. Ashland Ave.

Play a "Ghostbusters" Pinball Machine. Stern Pinball will unveil its new Ghostbusters machine at Emporium Arcade Bar. Free, from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, 1366 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Brunch Along North Avenue. Neighbors Piece and Lillie's Q are launching weekend brunch, Eater reports.  Enjoy white pies topped with eggs, sausage and Sriracha cream cheese at Piece, while Lillie's Q will serve its regular BBQ brunch with just-added chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy and more dishes. Piece, 1937 W. North Ave.; Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Lillie's Q, 1856 W. North Ave.;Bunch served 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Rummage Through Stuff, Find Treasures. A multi-family yard sale will take over the lawn at Bucktown's Holstein Park, offering gently-used toys, furniture, clothes, baby items, household goods and more. (And if you are feeling ambitious, head to a massive neighborhood-wide garage sale in Ravenswood Manor.) Free, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, 2200 N. Oakley Ave.

Go on a Record Store Bike Tour. Musician Al Scorch's guided tour will pop by five record stores for in-store performances at each stop in honor of his Bloodshot Records' "Circle Around the Signs" release (listen to it here). "Bring your bikes, your friends, your ears, and your party pants," Scorch says. Free, starts at noon Saturday. Permanent Records, 1914 W. Chicago Ave.

Work Up a Sweat for STEM.  A 5K run and family walk through Humboldt Park will benefit STEM programs at St. Helen's School. Entry fees range between $10-$27. Start at 8 a.m. Saturday in the northwest corner of the park, near the sledding hill, 1400 N. Sacramento Ave.

Shred Sensitive Papers, Electronics Responsibly. Old love letters, credit card statements and that 18-pound laptop can all be recycled in the Wicker Park Bucktown Taxpayer No. 33's, Community Paper Shredding and E-cycling event day. Your first three bags or boxes are free to shred; additional material can be destroyed for $5 each. Pritzker School parking lot, 2020 W. Evergreen St., 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Spruce Up Your Spring Wardrobe on the Cheap. The popular Cheap Thrills multi-boutique sale will bring together 19 local shops, such as Eskell, Kokorokoko and Penelope's in one spot. Emporium Logan Square, 2363 N. Milwaukee Ave. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Celebrate Pub Royale's 1st Birthday.  An anniversary party at the Anglo-American Indian pub that replaced SmallBar last May will feature belly dancers, free henna tattoos, Bollywood movies, a raffle and more revelry, plus a new beer collaboration with Back of the Yards' Whiner Beer Co. Free, 2049 W. Division St., Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner from 5 p.m. to midnight.
