LAKEVIEW — One of Lakeview's top creperies has folded, but a new restaurant is already prepped to move in.

Crepe Town closed at 3915 N. Sheridan Road in April after more than six years just south of the Sheridan Red Line "L" station and Irving Park Road.

The creperie featured 27 sweet and savory crepes on a block filled with food options like TAC Quick, Pizza Rustica Italian Bistro and Curry Point.

Crepe entrees like the tapas crepe (grilled shrimp, crab stick and bell pepper) or the chicken pesto crepe were $7 or $8, while the sweeter options like the Funky French Monkey crepe (peanut butter with sliced bananas and chocolate chips) were $5-$7.

Crepe Town opened in late 2009, replacing Rick's Cafe, filling the space between Artemio's Bakery and Pizza Rustica, which later moved to a larger location across the street.

Burger Hub will replace the creperie, and remodeling for the new restaurant was underway Monday.

For the Burger Hub in West Ridge, it's no surprise what menu item is front and center. Gourmet burgers can be ordered with beef or turkey patties and topped with crave-worthy options lik poutine or deep-friend Spam.

Stand-out burgers include the Scorpion (topped with the hottest pepper in the world), and the Herc'a'Cheese, which serves up a half-pound burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches.

Loaded tater tots, horseshoe sandwiches and deep-fried Twinkies round out the menu.
