HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Historical Society is going to check on its archives and is offering the curious a chance to tag along.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday the historical society is offering a peek into its archives stored at University of Chicago Special Collections Research Center in Regenstein Library, 1100 E. 57th St.

The tour includes a brief history of the collection, a look at rare items stored in the collection and a chance to go back into areas of the Special Collections Research Center not normally open to the public.

The tour is $25 and space is limited to 20 people. All proceeds will be used to maintain the collection.

A space on the tour can be reserved by e-mailing Michal Safar at msafar@ameritech.net.
