112 Tickets, But None For Drunken Driving In DUI Strike Force

WICKER PARK/BUCKTOWN —  Last Saturday night's DUI Strike Force did not result in any tickets for impaired or drunken driving, however, Shakespeare District officers issued 112 other citations related to safety violations during the sting, Chicago Police announced on Thursday.

The DUI Strike Force Patrol started at 7 p.m. last Saturday and ended at 3 a.m. Sunday in the area bounded by Armitage, Fullerton and Western avenues and the Kennedy Expressway, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Here are the results:

Driving Under the Influence: 0
Unsafe Vehicle Violations: 56
Insurance Violations: 15
Safety Belt Violations: 12
Traffic Violations (Other) 29
Total Citations: 112

This weekend, the traveling DUI Strike Force will head to Lincoln Park.
