NEAR WEST SIDE — A 23-year-old man was shot in his ankle on the Near West Side Tuesday night, police said.

The man was shot around 9:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 14th Street, said Offier Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was brought to a nearby hospital, where his condition was unknown, police said.

Police could not immediately provide any other information on the shooting.
