Burglaries To Businesses in West Loop, West Town Prompt Police Warning

NEAR WEST SIDE — Chicago Police are warning area business owners after four burglaries were reported in the West Loop and West Town earlier this month. 

In each burglary, someone got into the business by breaking through a door before stealing items, police said. 

The burglaries occurred: 

• About 8 p.m. April 8 in the 900 block of West Randolph Street in the West Loop 

• About 10:30 p.m. April 13 in the 1800 block of West Chicago Avenue in West Town 

• About 4 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of West Kinzie Street in the West Loop 

• About 5 a.m. Monday in the 1600 block of West Chicago Avenue in West Town

The suspect was described as a black man with a dark backpack who wore black clothing in some of the burglaries and camouflage in others. He was driving a dark four-door car in some of the cases and a black minivan.
