OLD TOWN — Though steak is the star at newly opened SteakBar, the Old Town restaurant offers a number of additional options — including fish, both grilled and raw — if meat isn't your thing.

The restaurant, 1500 N. Wells St., which opened late last week, is the first collaboration for restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff of Hogsalt Hospitality and Four Corners Tavern Group.

Inspired by "the city's infatuation with steak," the team created a steakhouse with a modern feel — complete with an elevated DJ booth designed to host live entertainment.

Entrees include a selection of steaks, ranging from the more traditional charred New York strip steak ($30) to a less conventional Hawaiian skirt steak ($22), as well as fish like broiled salmon steak ($19) and swordfish steak ($24).

A variety of starters and salads complement the entrees. Creamed spinach fondue ($10), crispy baked potato ($10) and the wedge salad ($16) are all modern takes on classic steakhouse dishes.

Less expected is the raw fish section of the menu, which features shrimp cocktail and steak tartare dishes — both for $18.

Wash it all down with cocktails like the Fireball old fashioned, which you can get by the glass ($12) or the pitcher ($48), depending on what kind of night you're having. Beer and wine is also served.
