WEST LOOP — A new Starbucks coffee shop is coming to Randolph's Restaurant Row in the West Loop.

Starbucks has signed on to lease a 3,100-square-foot space in the Sterling Bay-owned building at 1000 W. Randolph St., confirmed Starbucks spokeswoman Holly Hart Shafer.

An existing Starbucks location across the street at 946 W. Randolph St. will remain open for now, but will likely relocate to a new location when the store opens, Shafer said.

Despite earlier reports, the new Randolph Street Starbucks will not be one of the 100 new premium Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room stores, but may offer the brand's line of rare, small batch Reserve coffees in shop, Shafer said. About 40 other existing Chicago stores already carry the small batch Reserve coffee line.

Several other Starbucks coffee shops are also located in the West Loop, including stand-alone shops at Halsted and Monroe streets in Greektown and at Madison and Morgan streets.
