LITTLE VILLAGE — A 17-year-old was shot in his thigh in Little Village early Sunday morning, police said.

Around 1:05 a.m., the teen was walking on the sidewalk in the 4000 block of West 26th Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The teen was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Estrada said. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

Police said the teen is a documented gang member.

No one is in custody, Estrada said.
