CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was injured in a Little Village shooting early Thursday, according to police.

He was about to get into his car in the 2400 block of South St. Louis Avenue at 6:15 a.m. when a man walked up and opened fire, said Officer Nicole Trainor, Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was struck in his chest and arm and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Trainor said.

The man is a documented gang member, police said. No arrests have been made, Trainor said.
