2 Killed, 6 Wounded in Shootings Since Tuesday Morning, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two men were killed and another six people were wounded in shootings on the South and West sides between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, police said.

A 19-year-old man was shot to death while riding a bicycle in Austin Tuesday morning, police said.

Around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, a 31-year-old man was found shot to death in South Shore, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Just after 8 p.m. Tuesday night, Pacheco said, a 19-year-old man was shot during an argument in Woodlawn.

Earlier, a 29-year-old man was shot in his leg in Back of the Yards, police said.

• Most recently, around 1 a.m. Wendesday, a 29-year-old woman was walking in the 4300 block of West Cermak Road in North Lawndale when she heard shots and felt pain in her foot, Pacheco said.

The woman was brought to Mount Sinai Hospital, Pacheco said, where she was listed in good condition.

• Just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, a 19-year-old man was walking in the 12100 block of South Emerald Avenue in West Pullman when someone walked up and shot him, Pacheco said.

The man brought himself to Metro South Hospital, Pacheco said, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his upper right shoulder. Police could not provide his condition but said he was "stable."

• Around 8:35 p.m., Pacheco said, a 29-year-old man was standing in the 5900 block of West Augusta Boulevard in Austin when someone shot at him out of a passing car.

The man brought himself to West Suburban Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in his leg, Pacheco said.

• At 3:10 p.m., a 22-year-old man got into a fight with someone in the 500 block of North Laramie Avenue when the other person shot him, Pacheco said.

The man was taken to West Suburban Hospital in critical condition with gunshot wounds in his abdomen and shoulder, Pacheco said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings, Pacheco said.
