Police Warn of University Village Robberies

UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — A group of four men committed two strong-arm robberies in University Village Monday evening, according to a community alert issued Tuesday.

In each robbery, police said, the group approached someone in the street and struck them before taking their property.

The first robbery occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Racine Avenue, police said. The second robbery occurred around 10:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of South Morgan Avenue.

Police described the suspects as four black men between the ages of 16 and 22, all weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.
