2 Killed, 23 Wounded In in Weekend Shootings, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two people were killed and another 23 were wounded in shootings across the city since Friday, police said. 

Most recently, at 12:45 p.m., Sunday, a Humboldt Park shooting left one man dead, and another one injured, said Officer Ana Pacheco, Chicago Police spokesman.

A 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, Pacheco said. A 20-year-old man who was shot in his arm, head, and torso, and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is listed in "stable" condition, Pacheco said. 

At 11:30 p.m. Friday, a 21-year-old man was killed inside a Greater Grand Crossing home after a bullet pierced the window, police said.

The man was inside a home in the 7100 block of South Calumet Avenue when someone outside fired shots, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

In non-fatal Sunday shootings:

Four teens were wounded in an Englewood shooting on Sunday, police said. 

At 5:53 p.m., the teens were on a porch in the 6500 block of South Green Street when they were shot, Pacheco said. 

Two men were wounded in separate shootings on the Southwest Side overnight, police said. 

Most recently, at 1 a.m. Monday, a man was leaving a bar in the 6600 block of South Western Avenue in Marquette Park when he was shot in his stomach, Pacheco said. The man taken to Christ Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition, Pacheco said. 

At 11:40 p.m., a 27-year old man was in a parked car in the 3000 block of West Eastwood Avenue in Albany Park when two people got out of a black SUV and shot at him, Pacheco said.

At 7:11 p.m., a 29-year-old man was getting out of a vehicle in the 900 block of North Fairfield Avenue in Humboldt Park when he was shot, Pacheco said. The man, who was shot in his face, chest and hand, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he is listed in "stable" condition. 

Nine people were wounded in shootings from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning, police said.

Of note, a person was shot while driving on the Eisenhower Expressway at 1:45 a.m., said Sgt. Jason Bradley, a State Police spokesman.

Five people were wounded in shootings from Friday afternoon to Saturday, police said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings.
