OLD TOWN — Two sports bars — one in Old Town, the other in Wicker Park — are trying to cash in on the popularity of binge-watching Netflix by launching a series called "Netflix and Chill."

Yes, you read that right.

The events are marketed as "Netflix and Chill at Old Town Pour House and The Boundary," which, for those in the know, is a bit scandalous considering the slang term doesn't actually mean binge-watching Netflix.

We'll spare you the dirty details, but "Netflix and chill" has essentially become code for fooling around while Netflix plays in the background.

So you can imagine our surprise when the term popped up accompanied by a light-hearted TV marathon.

But a spokeswoman for Bottleneck Management, who helped market the event, said the use of the term was no mistake.

On the contrary, the spokeswoman said it was a way to poke fun at the slang term since the events begin on Valentine's Day.

"We're not suggesting that would go down [at either of the bars]," she said with a laugh.

"It's a play on the little phenomenon of 'Netflix and chill' and a way to do something slightly different at such popular bars."

So if you're looking to literally (watch) Netflix and chill (out with platonic friends), we recommend heading to the Old Town Pour House, 1419 N. Wells St., and the Boundary Tavern and Grille, 1932 W. Division St., in February and March.

You're on your own when it comes to the metaphorical "Netflix and chill," though.

Beginning Feb. 14 though March 6, the bars will start playing Netflix favorites every Sunday at 6 p.m. There will also be half-priced bottles of wine and select $4 beers.

Here's the lineup:

Feb. 14: "Master of None," Episodes 1-5

Feb. 21: "House of Cards, Episodes 1-3

Feb. 28: "Arrested Development," Episodes 1-9

March 6: "Bloodline," Episodes 1-3
